I wanted something a little different than some of the books I had been reading. Xnne romantic with a heroine that wasn’t in her teens or 20’s. Graphic sexual content is fine libertaing me but wanted character development in the story line too.
Well, I found it all here. This was one of the most enjoyable books that I have read in a long time. There were laugh-out-loud moments as well as some frustration and ahh moments. Loved the bad cop scene. I wished that I could find more like this but apparently the older woman and younger man subject isn’t one widely written that comes across short of a porn subject.
If anyone knows of books in this area, by all means suggest some titles to me. Lacey Meyers was newly divorced after a fifteen year marriage. She was in her mid caohoun, affluent, grew up in upper class society and still resided there. She had never had passionate sex and truly wanted to know if it really existed. She wanted different and a temporary hookup sounded perfect for one night of exploration. Hunter Anderson was a cop.
He grew up with a single, blue collar dad. He trusted his dad and his fellow policemen, and no one else. Although he had a girlfriend or two in the past, they never lasted long. He focused on the temporary hookups and that suited his lifestyle better. Lacey and Hunter met at a pick up bar and the chemistry rocked.

He gave her exactly what she was looking for but neither could end there. Calhoun focused the storyline on their relationship development, creative sex, their differences of standing in society, the challenges with their age differences and their jobs. The storyline was predictable with some editing errors, but it was also enjoyable and entertaining. Liberating Lacey by Anne Calhoun is a well written erotic book.
I like my erotic books to have a decent plot but more importantly character development and this book delivered on that along with some really hot sex scenes. The book starts off with a bang and keeps your interest from there. This book is more than a “Cougar from up-town” meets a Young Boy-Toy.
Both the characters were very well developed. Yes the h was a recent divorcee looking for a little bit of fun and wanting to do some things she’d never done before, and the H was a younger guy who isn’t interested in a relationship. However, both characters have so much more too them. Liberqting relationship grows and explores an older woman and a younger guy working through the issues presented from their own ideas and the preconceived notions of other people looking at their relationship from the outside.
The sex in this book was hot and well written. It wasn’t over the top and thank you no anatomy lessons. It was also believable and the author didn’t try to do everything crazy and over the top kinky. It was just well written and hot. If you are looking liberatjng a hot erotic read with a good story and excellent characters then give this one a try.
Really solid romance set in Chicago, with newly-divorced Lacey meeting beat cop Hunter in a bar calhlun diving right into a physical hookup. They get to know one another and soon fall into a mostly physical relationship-and it is fantastically spicy to read! POV flows back and forth between Lacey’s perspective and Hunter’s. The complexity of her wealth and upper class upbringing clashing with his middle class existence, and conflict that creates, added nice tension -as did the near year age difference.
Lacey is a strong, successful businesswoman, which I adored, and mostly stayed true to her view that their relationship was strictly in the ‘for now, not forever’ box Hunter’s struggle with their wealth differences becomes a sticking point. Story got tripped up just a bit on one particularly long ‘bad cop’ fantasy erotic scene-while it was wonderfully hot, it was just too long and slowed the book down. I adored the really strong writing, and the journey was truly satisfying Will definitely read more from this author!
One person found this helpful. Anne Calhoun is new to me but I have found a unique and absorbing story amidst lwcey very hot read. Do you like an age difference? What about older woman? Then this is for you, nothing about laxey book was predictable and there was a surprisingly emotional punch to the story. Hunter was a hero I could really just meld with.
He was real in all ways. Lacey just kept exceeding my expectations for her character.
She was free and I admired that. I actually bought the hard copy of this book years ago. I absolutely loved it then and I love it now!!! Without a doubt my favorite older female slightly younger male let’s hook up and try not to fall in love stories.
